SyberPlace’s drop shipping model

How SyberPlace’s drop shipping model is ensuring prompt consumer order fulfillment

Ties-up with leading logistics players such as Bluedart, Ecom Express, Go Javas, Gati, and Aramex

New Delhi, March 22, 2016: Imagine placing an order online at 10 in the night and receiving the delivery at 10 in the morning. Sounds too far-fetched? Not anymore. SyberPlace, a Webstore that sells digital technology such as smartphones, laptops, tablets and accessories, is ensuring prompt order fulfillment for its consumers across India.

But how does it do it, when other leading e-commerce players take much longer to deliver the consumer purchase? The answer lies in its approach. Unlike e-commerce marketplaces which store items within their warehouses for shipment, SyberPlace follows a drop shipping model that directly dispatches order from vendor to customer’s location. This helps in drastically cutting down on the dispatch time, leading to product delivery within 24 hours in tier-1 cities.

Speaking on the model, Urvesh Goel, Founder and CEO, SyberPlace.com, said, “The delay in order fulfilment is one of the major drawbacks of the online marketplace business model and leads to a gap in the consumer’s purchase experience. This is why we chose a drop shipping approach to ensure a quick, efficient product delivery and a more seamless customer experience.”

This efficiency of product delivery is also driven by SyberPlace’s strategic partnerships with leading logistics partners such as Bluedart, Ecom Express, Go Javas, Gati and Aramex, as well as its extensive service network. The webstore currently owns warehouses in Hyderabad & Bangalore in addition to tie-ups with vendors across major commercial hubs such as Delhi and Mumbai, and delivers to more than 7000 pin codes across India, including tier-3 and tier-4 cities.

“We have always believed that geographical location should not hinder a consumer’s access to the latest technology, which is why we have partnered with major logistics players to extend the breadth of our services to even those areas where other e-commerce players do not operate. Currently, the majority of our orders come from tier-1 and tier-2 cities, which contribute 60% and 20% respectively to our overall sales, while tier-3 and tier-4 geographies also pitch in with 15% and 5% respectively.

As technology adoption within these areas increases, we will be looking to further improve our service delivery network to match the increase consumer demand,” concluded Spokesperson.

Smartphone trends for 2016

Smartphone trends for 2016

2015 was a good year for smartphones. Chock-full of innovation, several new features and a way better price to performance ratio.

More 2K & 4K Screens

2015 was the year of 1080p full HD screens on phones. Barely a couple of years ago, 1080p screens on TVs were the norm and now the same number of pixels are being crammed into many phone displays. A handful of flagships were also given quad HD or 2K screens. This translates into a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and very high pixel densities. Some of the phones with 2K displays this year include the Galaxy S6 (the entire range), Note 5, Nexus 6P, HTC One M9+ and LG G4. And Sony was the only one to go for serious overkill with a 4K screen on the Xperia Z5 Premium. This phone has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels and a density of 806ppi. To put that into perspective, Apple's latest iPhone 6S plus has less than half the pixel density at 401ppi.

3 & 4GB RAM To Be The New Standard

The RAM in the phone plays a large part in making everything run smoothly, especially with a lot of apps running in the background. There was a time when you had to constantly clean up the RAM, force quit background apps and run cleaner apps to get the phone running smoothly. This stopped when 3GB RAM became common. There were many flagships with 4GB RAM this year and this trend will continue. In addition, new flagships will most likely have the faster DDR4 RAM -after all, it's the combination of adequate RAM and high speed that make all the difference. And finally, there will be the odd phone maker who wants to stand out from the crowd with a 5 or 6GB RAM phone.

More Fingerprint Scanners on Sub-10k Phones

Fingerprint scanners are a great way to secure your phone -there's no need to remember long passwords or complicated unlock patterns. The prints are saved on the device itself so security is not compromised.

Most of them now work quite fast (read & unlock in under a second) and the added advantage is that thanks to the ability to register multiple fingers, you can have multiple users for the same device. This year, we saw fingerprint scanners make their way to sub Rs 10k phones -the CoolPad Note 3, for example. At Rs 8,999 this phone was real value.

We'll see more of the same next year -a lot more phones with fingerprint scanners in the sub Rs 10k price range.

The Race for Thinner Bezels

Bezels are the black borders around the screen. Typically, cheaper devices tend to have larger bezels but we've been seeing them get thinner than ever this year. Part of the reason that the Galaxy Note 5 looks so great is because of the super-thin bezel.

It's not just expensive phones either -the Qiku Q Terra showed us that a Rs 20k phone can have thin bezels too. Apart from looking really cool, there are other advantages to having ultra-thin bezels. A thin bezel reduces the overall size of the phone which makes it easier to hold. There are a couple of disadvantages: accidental touch when you finger creeps close to the edge and vulnerability to breakage.

32GB Will Be The New Base Variant

Storage is becoming cheaper by the year while storage needs are growing exponentially. On a phone with 16GB internal storage, you typically get about 12GB free which gets filled up within a few months of usage. On flagship devices where you end up paying premium prices, getting only 16GB storage seems like a rip-off. This year, we saw brands like Samsung, Sony and LG offer flagships with 32GB as the base storage instead of 16GB. Even Indian brand Yu launched its flagship Yutopia with a 32GB storage variant. In 2016, we expect more brands (including Apple) to take this route offering either 32 or 64GB base storage instead of the paltry 16GB.

USB Type-C Will Be The New Standard

USB Type-C adoption has already started with smartphones by OnePlus, Google Nexus and Gionee already available with the Type-C port.USB Type-C has multiple advantages over the current microUSB port: it is reversible, offers faster charging and is compatible with fast USB 3.0 speed data transfers. Apple has used USB Type-C ports in its Macbook and there are chances that the next iPhoneiPad will use it too. This would mean that USB Type-C will become the new standard for USB across all smartphones.

All The Camera Innovations

2015 saw international as well as Indian brands offering unique camera propositions.

Cameras with dual lenses, phase detection autofocus, a front selfie flash and laser auto focus were launched by various brands to en tice customers. Camera quality also improved dramatically with some flagships offering images comparable to point and shoot cameras.

Going ahead, we expect that optical image stabilisation not remain the preserve of premium flagship phones anymore. (see the Rs 20k HTC Desire 828 which already has OIS). Along the same lines, Laser autofocus is also expected to become a common feature, just like an LED flash is now. Camera megapixel count will continue to increase and we are expecting dual lens adoption to rise in 2016 because its an easy way out to better quality and effects.

Universal Fast Charging Solutions

When it comes to charging, you need to understand that the charging speed depends on how many amperes your charger can output. A 2 Amp charger is capable of charging your phone almost twice as fast than a 1Amp charger. However, most chargers that come with smartphones today are rated at 1Amp output. Considering that many of us end up doing a partial charge twice in a day, we expect that in 2016, manufacturers will start bundling 2Amp chargers and other fast chargers by default for fast charging. USB Type-C adoption also plays an important part here as fast charging is one of its default features

By
This year, we saw smartphone launches literally, every week! Companies such as Apple, Samsung, Micromax, Motorola, Lenovo and others offered an endless list of devices in India. Most of them, were affordable smartphones this year. We take a look which smartphones India was searching for via Google in 2015.
YU-Yureka
It wasn’t the iPhone. Nor was it Samsung or Xiaomi. The most searched smartphone in India in the year 2015 was the YU Yureka. Offering a 5.5-inch display, this device packs in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC which has an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz along with Adreno 405 GPU paired with 2GB of RAM. Running Cyanogen 12 OS based on the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop, the smartphone packs in a 2,500 mAh battery. With high-end specifications, the device is priced at a mere Rs 8,999, making it one of the hottest selling and searched devices this year.
Apple-iPhone-6S
Like it or hate it, everyone admires Apple’s signature iPhone. Just 3 months into its launch, the iPhone 6s makes it second the most searched smartphone of the year. Not only does it look great, it is said to have incorporated a new processor, 3D Touch feature along with a quicker Touch ID sensor. The cheapest variant for the device starts at Rs 45,999. You can read our detailed review of the iPhone 6s Plus, which is a large screen variant of this generation.
Lenovo-K3-Note
Being touted as a ‘KillerNote’, the Lenovo K3 Note was the third most searched smartphone this year. Even though a limited lot got their hands on the phone due to its competitive flash sales, the smartphone was a big hit in the country. Lenovo offered a stylish look, beautiful display, light weight along with a strong performance, all at Rs 9,999.
Lenovo-A7000
Another smartphone, which made heads turn this year was the Lenovo A7000. This was truly a budget phone and it struck a cord with all fans. It also offered a large screen display with a powerful processor with a good camera and a wide range of connectivity options. All this at Rs 8,499.
Moto-G
Moto G lands in at number 5 on the most searched smartphone on Google this year. The third iteration to the Moto G, offers the best overall user experience on an Android phone available in the market today. With a starting price of Rs 12,999, the smartphone offers a sturdy build quality and is dust and water resistant. Here’s our full review of the Moto G third gen.
Micromax-Canvas-Silver-5
Another Micromax phone which was searched intensely this year was the Canvas Sliver 5. Along with a stylish design, the phone is super slim. With a screen size at 4.7-inch, the smartphone uses a 1.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor, 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front camera. While it launched at Rs 17,999, you can now get the phone for under Rs 13,000.
Samsung-Galaxy-J7
Samsung’s only phone to make it to the list in the Galaxy J7. Not only does the affordable device pack in a good display but it is said to have brilliant battery life along with a good touch experience. Apart from this, the camera for the Galaxy J7 is said to be superb as it offers great low light images. All in all, a good package at Rs 14,299.
Moto-X-Play
Another Motorola smartphone which made headlines this year was the Moto X Play. The great overall user experience, good camera, good battery life and a wonderful display; clearly makes this phone one to consider if you have a Rs 20,000 budget. The Moto X Play is priced at Rs 18,499 for the 16GB variant and Rs 19,999 for the 32GB variant, which is very sensible pricing for the performance you are getting. The kind of user experience you are getting with the Moto X Play and the wonderful battery life, and the fact that you can buy the phone without any hassles of invites or flash sales, the Moto X Play comes highly recommended!
Micromax-Canvas-Spark
Micromax introduced the Canvas Spark in April while the Canvas Spark 2 was introduced in September. The main highlight for these devices is that they are priced under Rs 5,000! While the first iteration offers a 4.7-inch display, 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6582 processor, 8MP and more at Rs 4,999, the second gen one offers even better specs at Rs 3,999. With a slim body finish and decent specs, this one might be the most affordable smartphone out there.
Lenovo-A6000
At number 10 of the most searched smartphone list of 2015 is the Lenovo A6000. At 6,999, this smartphoneis the cheapest 4G phone you can buy. As a stand-alone entry level phone, the A6000 ticks the right boxes. The 5-inch HD display will be liked by many over the 4.5-inch qHD display on the Moto E, for instance. It makes for a good first smartphone purchase. It is priced at Rs 6,499.

Buying cheap products doesn't necessarily mean you are getting cheap quality. Finding high quality products at reasonable and even cheap prices is what we are really after. It sounds difficult, doesn't it? It can actually be quite easy if you know what you are doing. There are a number of ways to do this effectively.

Smartphones have been all over the news and chances are you know what smartphones are. You may only know that they are normal mobile phones that come under the specific name 'smartphone' with some added special features. Smartphones are mobile phones with mini-computer capabilities such as Internet searching capabilities and sending emails. But what is the main difference of smartphones from normal every day cell phones? A smartphone allows users to add additional programs to the phone such as downloading and installing different software and programs.

So last year Apple stunned the mobile phone market and tech world by extension with the release of what can now be regarded as its flag ship product, pushing the Mac and the iPod into a corner.

The company releases what is now touted to be the biggest and most anticipated release of a piece of technology. I am talking about the second generation mobile phone, the Apple iPhone 2.0 with 3G. The question now becomes where and when will we find a cheap iPhone 3G or 2.0?

Are bells ringing for freedom 251

Are bells ringing for freedom 251?

Are bells ringing for fraud 251?

Most stakeholders of the industry are skeptical of the 251 smartphone from Ringing Bells

Noida-based Ringing Bells, which has promised to sell smartphones for Rs 251 a piece, has been in news from past two weeks now. It would not be wrong to mention that it has reached out to the nerve and understood well about the Indian people mentality. Bringing the chepest smartphone in the market Ringing bells has made a pitty joke in the telecommunicatio industry.

Speaking about the make-in-India project by our honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an effort Mohit Goel, owner, Ringing bells has made a strategic plan of Rs251 to have Modi Ji’s eye on it. But coming back to reality its hard to understand a fact that how is it possible for a mobile maker to afford all the ware parts of the handset and make the smartphone available at such a cheaper amount of Rs.251, when you hear that parts like; screenguard, back-cover, SD card, Charger is way costly then the handset it self.

The company has been in news about the money they are offering the handset and also their are many other aspects where ringing bells is making news from the past two week. The recent update about the company is that the company is refunding money to customers due to negative speculation around its claim.

During the course of news coverage when DQ Channels approached Kuldeep Gupta, President, Noida Mobile Trader Association he said, “It seems it is a joke which Ringing Bells are spreading it aloud. Speaking on the making of the mobile he said, a single handset comprises of a mixture of 250 parts and how can one imagine of making a phone for Rs.251, It seems illogical.”

Kanpur Mobile Association, President, Dharmendra Gupta showed concern on the same he added, “The lower segment mobile industry will face disturbance, because of an illogical market strategy by Ringing Bells who is pulling a product who’s production is impossible. Speaking on this Dharmendra mentioned that the association will be holding a protest regarding the same and will ask the government to answer it back.

Congress MP Pramod Tiwari in Rajya Sabha strongly objected alleging that ‘Freedom 251’ smartphone scheme was a “fraud”, “I am making a definite allegation. This government is going to do a big scam. This is going to be the biggest scam of the millennium during the rule of BJP.”

He said six crore bookings have already been made for the phone and even at the rate of Rs. 251 each, the mobile company must have collected hundreds of crores of rupees.

Gopal Pansari, Director at Savera Marketing Agency Pvt Ltd said, “The Ringing Bell is growing up for the launch of affordable smartphone at the price tag of just Rs. 251, the price of this smartphone is something which kills Telecom Market and in this price tag we won’t be able to get a good cover for our smartphones but here we are getting a full fledge working smartphone with very decent specs. From news and other media sources we came to know that company is just 5-6 months ,the domain of this smartphone is just registered a month back they haven’t setup any plant yet and they are saying is that they will setup plant in May and will deliver smartphone to users by June.

Another thing which company has said at launch event of this smartphone is not subsidized by government, it’s highly impossible to make smartphone at this price tag without government’s help. ICA has also questioned how this company can make smartphone at this price as its hardware will cost minimum Rs.2500.One more thing about this Ringing Bell Company is that they haven’t got necessary certifications from government like BIS and some other, without which company will not be able to do business in India.

At this time we would like to wait and watch for next few days or weeks how and what this company is going to do, if they really able to make smartphone at Rs. 251 or just $4 then it will put India at new level in world, we hope company will be able to complete its promise and set a new standard for other and will not disappear from market, my best wishes are with them.”

Though thier is one such person who spoke with a positive scope to see Ringing Bells being on its words, speaking in support of the move, Urvesh Goel, Founder & CEO, SyberPlace, said, “Industrial revolution made cars affordable, IBM brought computers to our homes, and internet enabled the democratization of knowledge. Given how smartphones are driving the digital lifestyle and the economy today, smart businesses should be distributing smartphones for free. This move by Ringing Bells will make smartphones available to every Indian. INR 251 is a very fair price for a smartphone, and I admire Mohit and the team for bringing about this disruption.”

Speculations about the no-infrastructure of the company, Ringing Bells said that the company would refund the online payments for some 30,000 orders that poured in on the first pre-booking date (after which the company’s website crashed). The mode of payment now will be only cash on delivery. The Goels hope to begin deliveries of Freedom 251 by April, and keep at it till the end of June.

Keeping the Goels and their dream unlikely company is a 65-year-old astrophysicist.

Reminding about what Ringing Bells promise that it will offer a smartphone with a 4-inch display, 3.2 megapixel camera and 8 gigabytes of memory for less than $4. The $33 smartphones powered by Mozilla Corp.’s Firefox operating system have a 3.5 inch display, 2 megapixel camera and 256 megabytes of storage, this all seems to be a dream but they are not alone to blame we have the Indian population who supported the fraud with an open arms.

We do not see Excise exemption for smartphones: Syberplace.com

We do not see Excise exemption for smartphones: Syberplace.com

We do not see Excise exemption for smartphones, to support Digital India and Make in India. Smartphone is the ‘first screen’ for many users accessing internet. This would have reduced pressure on civil infrastructure and propel growth from within. We also had foreseen a larger budget outlay for rolling out 4G and Wi-Fi in smart cities, to be subsidized, if not make them absolutely free. This could reduce the pressure on roads, in shopping malls and reduce gas pollution from vehicles. If homes can double up as home office and shopping, we could reduce investment requirement for commercial property.

Budget 2016 Fails To Bring Cheers To IT Industry

 union budget

The IT industry was pinning much hopes on the Union Budget 2016-17. From rollout of GST implementation to domestic manufacturing, the industry was looking for a futuristic Budget that understands and addresses their concerns. The end however was a little dissapointing, with many even stating that the Budget didn’t have much to offer to them.
Lack of clarity disappoints CXOs
“My first reaction is of a bit of disappointment from the budget proposals. There is hardly any thing announced for the healthcare sector. Though the coverage of rupees one lac per family and a top up of 30,000 for senior citizens is a good move towards getting India towards a universal healthcare system but there is no roadmap laid for any healthcare sector reforms that the country badly needs,” Vipul Jain, CEO, Advancells commented on the Budget.
According to him, there is no additional announcement or clarity towards the proposals already made in Start up India and Make in India initiatives of the government that are already announced nor there are any incentives for innovation and research. “Some tax exemptions are a welcome move but we had expected a lot more,” stated Jain.
Govind Bansal, Co- Founder, Aqua Mobiles, amobile manufacturing company said, “Apart from 30-35 percent relaxation in the corporate tax and a reduction in the import of IT and Hardware products, there is nothing to boost the mobile phone industry of India. We were expecting some good reforms in the structural changes, easy registrations and approvals, etc. The budget is not in the line of ‘Start-up India, Stand up India. Nothing has been offered to the manufacturing and trading businesses.”
Urvesh Goel, Founder and CEO, Syberplace.com echoed similar views. “We do not see Excise exemption for smartphones, to support Digital India and Make in India. ”
“The Finance Minister reiterated the Government’s focus on rolling out GST. We are hopeful that GST will be a reality soon, thereby ensuring uniformity in tax rates and regulations,” mentioned Kiran Murthi, CEO, AskmeBazaar
Of course there were some positives about the Union Budget that are worth praising. The thrust on agriculture, rural, social healthcare, infrastructure and education could have a big push on the economic growth of India. Moreover, as Geetha Kannan, Managing Director, The Anita Borg Institute (ABI) India noted, “The allocation of Rs 500 cr under the Stand-Up India scheme for SC/ST and women entrepreneurs is very positive. Now it’s up to all the women entrepreneurs out there to capitalize on this opportunity.” However, she expressed that the budget still seems to fall short on benefits and incentives offered to improve the financial well-being of women who make up close to half of our population. The budget also offers very little for the individual tax payer.”
M.P Vijay Kumar, CFO, Sify Technologies Limited believes while some of the steps taken towards tax administration and social welfare measures are positive highlights of this Budget, one is surprised to see no change in service tax rate. “We have managed fiscal deficit owing to the oil scenario. Capital asset formation is not happening and we are not seeing much measures in that direction. Exports are key. With present exchange rates and the “Make in India” campaign, exports should have been given some thrust. We cannot bank on present oil prices to support our forex needs in long run.”
Nothing for the big ones
The major focus of the budget is infrastructure and rural economy. As Dr. Chandan Chowdhury, Managing Director-India, Dassault Systemes noted, “We believe that program such as Digital India, Start-Up India and Smart Cities need a strong technological infrastructure that must be supplemented with budgetary support from the government.  The Rs. 2.31 lakh crore earmarked for the infrastructure aligns well with the vision to build connected cities via highways and railways.”
The other positive was startups would get 100% tax exemption for 3 years except MAT which will apply from April 2016-2019 for creation of jobs. “It will be interesting to see how efficiently the Start Up India funds are utilized - this will definitely be something all startups and investors will be watching out for. Skill Development and Digital Literacy Mission are not only great social initiatives, but will also widen the addressable market for digital startups as making the internet accessible to the masses will also create more internet consumers,” stated Ankita Tandon, Chief Operating Officer, CouponDunia.
But again there’s not much for established start-ups. “We appreciate the EPFO benefits to startups and tax holiday provided to help the start-ups settle well. While some efforts by the government are really appreciated, its disheartening to see categorization of start-ups basis caste!. Additionally, there is not much that this budget has brought for already established / registered start-ups like us.” Anurav Rane, Founder & CEO of PlanMyMedicalTrip.com reacted on the budget.
Banking on digital literacy
The Government’s plans to launch digital literacy mission scheme for rural India. It aims to cover around 6 crore additional households in next 3 years. The FM announces Rs 500 crore for Prime Minister Modi’s StandUp India initiative. A Digital Depository to be established which will be a one-stop place for all education related e-certificates.
Schemes like the digital literacy mission to e-educate rural households will work towards bringing more and more Indians into the folds of the connected world, said Umang Bedi, Managing Director – Adobe South Asia. Initiatives like the creation of an online repository of qualification documents, an e-platform for an unified agriculture market and other such measures will ensure robust IT platforms are deployed towards furthering automation - advancing the government’s Digital India mission in earnest. We expect this to translate into more business opportunities in the IT sector locally, and also drive skills development as well as creation of new jobs across the industry. Additionally, some reductions announced in customs and excise duties are likely to bring in positive headwinds for the sector.
Pramod Saxena, Chaiman & MD, Oxigen Services, ”With digital literacy mission that has been announced which will target 6 crore households with financial literacy, the digital connect and payments connect will play an important role. Also, statutory status to Aadhaar will play a very big role in promoting digital payments, social benefit transfers and allowing several services beyond banking & insurance to be also be brought into its fold, whether it is government subsidies or government payments it will open a way for more government payments and subsidies to flow into the financial inclusion program.”
The silver lining
Of the other positives, the Budget promises massive rollout of ATMs and micro-ATMs in post offices. The Department of Posts (DoP) announced plans to open 1,000 ATMs by March this year and also bring all 25,000 departmental post offices under core banking system. Presenting at the Union Budget today, the government announced it will undertake a massive rollout of ATMs in post offices over the next three years by providing better access to financial services in rural areas.
There’s also scope of e-assessment to be expanded to seven mega cities. However, Rajiv Vij, MD & CEO, Carzonrent said “Though the ‘Smart City’ development is running behind schedule, but the focus on infrastructure Development is a first step in that direction, and can be built on it further.  FM’s push to the ‘Skill Development’ initiative as an element of ‘Make In India’ is a positive step in creating skilled workforce important for overall nation building.”
Articulating some of the above-mentioned points, Partha Iyengar - VP & Gartner Fellow, Country Manager Research (India), Gartner mentioned, “The budget has a number of positives in it - though in some cases they are ‘baby steps’ but he summed up, “As always though, the devil is in the implementation of these schemes. It is good to see a mention of review of program effectiveness as one of the goals in the budget, but till we see that followed up religiously it is hard to give it credence.”

Budget 2016: A hit among Indian Startups or yet another disappointment?

Budget 2016: A hit among Indian Startups or yet another disappointment?

Finance minister, Arun Jaitley, finally put an end to all the anticipation surrounding the Union budget 2016 as he announced the much-awaited “vikaskabudget”. The Narendra Modi government has all this while been pretty vocal about their ambitious plans for the Indian start up ecosystem, especially with their Start Up India, Stand Up India plan that has raised new hopes for the budding enterprises in the country.
We had earlier carried a story on what Indian startups expect from budget 2016. Its now time to assess if the budget 2016-2017 actually managed to live up to the startups’ expectations? By the look of it, it seems like a mixed bag, carrying hopes for some and disappointment for others. Here we bring out the reactions of some of the stakeholders of the Indian start up community to the Union budget 2016.

Sanjeev Duggal, CEO and MD, Centum Learning
Considering the fact that Indian economy has held its head high in times of global economic turmoil, our Finance Minister has presented a mixed budget quite favourable for aspiring entrepreneurs.
The 100% deduction of profits for Startups for three out of first five years is great but MAT applicability on Startups will create hurdles in growth as it will impact the initial cash outflow of startups.
It has been proposed to exempt service tax on services provided under DDU GKY (Deen Dayal Upadhyay Grameen Kaushalya Yojana) and services provided by Assessing Bodies empanelled by Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.  But Budget should have exempted the service taxes provided to Training partners registered under the said schemes too. Then benefit could be reaped thereby motivating training providers.

Govind Rajan, Chief Operating Officer, FreeCharge
We are excited to see Government’s push towards research & innovation and 80% discount on filing patent applications by start-ups will further see new home-grown innovations coming from start-ups. This will  not only  bolster the ‘Start-up India, Stand-Up India’ initiative but also create a great environment for tech innovation in  the country.”

Ambika Sharma, Founder, Instappy
Government has recently been focusing a lot on the growth of woman Entrepreneurs in the country, cheering them to establish themselves. Allotting funds of Rs. 500 crores especially for them will encourage the startup ecosystem to reach another level. Furthermore, since last budget, service tax has been the topic of discussion and by giving 100% exemption; the Finance Minister has done his bit to act as an enabler. Startups can now more effectively and efficiently concentrate on establishing their businesses and weave their path.

Soumitra Gupta, CEO, Togofogo
We appreciate the Finance Minister’s move on Tax holiday for startups as every startup takes minimum three of five years to setting upthe company. We welcome the effort by Indian government for startup industry. It will give a strategic boost to the current ratio of Indian entrepreneurs and will support the Startup India campaign by Modi Government.

Puneet Gupta, CEO, Buzmeeh
We welcome the Budget 2016-17 as it’s a well strategized move for Indian startup industry. 100 % deduction on profits for 3 out of first 5 years will definitely strengthen the base as it will assist in setting the right pace for the company. Additionally, the amendment to the Companies Act in order to ensure speedy registrations of fresh startups will also lend a positive boost to the startup ecosystem. These positive moves will surely encourage the entrepreneurs wanting to establish themselves as a key part of the economy.

Dinesh Goel,Co-Founder & CEO, AasaanJobs.com
While it is heartening to see the allocation of funds in Budget 2016 to strengthen higher education through a non profit organisation and skill development through the Pradhanmantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, the future plan involving the setting up of 1500 skill institutes should be done in tandem with the industry expectations of skills required in various job roles today. For job creation in India to scale up, it is imperative that there is a constant realignment of skill expectations for jobs available in the market for all the stakeholders involved – job seekers as well as recruiters – with the changing nature of job descriptions today.
